Port Chicago Youth Gathering is in partnership with the Pittsburg Youth Development Center, PAAACT, Jazz Musician Marcus Shelby, and Author Steve Sheinkin. This event is designed for our youth and incorporates music, book excerpts, spoken word, poetry slams, rapping, grafiti art, solo bass performances, and an interactive audience discussion with the aim of nurturing pride, understanding, and a sense of belonging. For this event we are looking for the furture leaders of tomorrow to take the lead and hold a discussion with each other. There will be raffle prizes for Target, 7/11, and Starbucks. Participants will also have the opportunity to win tickets to the Saturday Night Marcus Shelby Orchestal event. We look forward to a day of fun. Let's make this the best event for the Port Chicago Weekend
