Panorama Park

San Francisco’s newest public park, Panorama Park, is now open on Yerba Buena Island with 360 views in the middle of San Francisco Bay.

Panorama Park is part of the ongoing transformation of the former naval base at Treasure Island and Yerba Buena Island, situated at the site of the 1944 Port Chicago "mutiny" trial.

In tribute to this history, the park features permanent panels honoring the Port Chicago 50, commemorating both their legacy and the significance of the trial that took place there.

The journey to Panorama Park is an adventure in itself. Visitors embark on a 338-foot climb up a well-paved path, winding their way through natural beauty before reaching the park’s summit. Along the way, you’ll encounter the Yerba Buena Island off-leash dog park, The Rocks Dog Park, perfect for those bringing their four-legged friends along for the view.

At the top, you’ll be greeted by the park’s centerpiece: the “Point of Infinity” sculpture by renowned Japanese architect Hiroshi Sugimoto. This gleaming 69-foot spire reaches towards the sky, embodying the artist’s vision of infinity and human consciousness. The sculpture stands within the remains of a historic 2-million-gallon water tank, marrying the island’s past with its artistic future.
